Printable Cleaning Flow Chart
Streamline your cleaning routine with a printable cleaning flow chart!
I’m the first one to admit that I’m a highly distractable person. I’ll intend to clean my living room but end up watering plants instead. I’m like the ball in the pinball machine-just bouncing all over the place unless I have a distinct plan.
That, my friends, is why I made this free printable cleaning flow chart for you. This little chart helps keep me on track and saves me TONS of time cleaning my house-I hope it helps you as well!
This chart is also highlighted in my comprehensive Ultimate Home Cleaning Guide, along with everything you need to know to get started keeping a clean & tidy home!

How to Use This Cleaning Chart
Let this cleaning chart guide you to completely clean your home zone by zone.
- Declutter and start laundry
- Clean the kitchen
- Switch out laundry
- Clean the bedrooms
- More laundry!
- Clean living areas
- Tidy up the exterior of your home
Tips
- Make sure the washer and dryer have the sound on so you can hear when a load finishes and move/fold it immediately.
- Always clean top to bottom so dirt and dust doesn’t fall onto already cleaned surfaces.
- Batch the floors, vacuuming all carpets and rugs in the house in one sitting and sweeping and mopping all hard surfaces in another.

I seem to get so distracted when house cleaning. Thank you for the flow chart!
I hope it is helpful to you!
This is going to be such a help to me! I’m actually looking forward to getting back home (I’m traveling for work) in order to try this out. I’m totally ADD when cleaning my house!
I’ve used this a few times recently with a new baby and love it! It works so well! My house is small and usually fairly clean, but sometimes stuff piles up (laundry…cough, cough), and you just want to hit it all quickly.
Is it ok if I share this image and link to you in a future blog post?
Where can I find the 28-Day Spring Clean Challenge you have posted on Pinterest? I’d really like to have it.
Samantha, it looks like it was created by Simple Green (bottom right). I went to their website but couldn’t find it so I just a screen shot of the picture and printed that. Hope this helps.
I have a seven-day challenge Samantha, not a 28 day. It is here https://thehappierhomemaker.com/7-day-spring-cleaning-challenge/
Happened into the cleaning flow chart on Pintrest. I have to say, I’ve been searching high and low for a list that fits my style and this is is it. Thank you for creating it and sharing it. Now off to clean!!!
I really struggle with oranization and daily cleaning. So many people I know just do this all in their head and I honestly can’t. I look at all the stuff I need to do and get overwhelmed. This helps me so so so much. Thank you!
Love this chart keeps me from going “squirrel!”
This is great! This is the first cleaning checklist/routine I’ve seen on Pinterest that actually looks like the way I clean. I work mondays-thursdays, so I try to get as much cleaning in on Fridays as possible. I like to rest after work during the week and enjoy my weekends, so the plans I’ve seen that incorporate a lot of cleaning throughout the week just don’t work for me (especially doing a load of laundry everyday – Ugh!) thanks for this flowchart!
I can’t do a load of laundry daily either, I hate laundry so I’d rather do it all in one day and have it over with! Glad the flow chart was helpful! ~Melissa
Any flowcharts for organizing a toddler for a beach day and an overnight trip? Love this idea. It has helped me feel more organized while cleaning.
I love your printable flow chart! I think something like that would also help me to stay focused and get more done. Is there anyway I could get a copy of an editable version of the PDF file? I’d like to customize it for what will work for me and my situation. Thanks!
On the flow chart: the Living Space is repeated in 2 boxes- is something else supposed to go in one of the boxes?
Oh my goodness!! I can’t believe that no one said anything before, I accidentally used a draft of the printable rather than the final my designer gave me! Thank you SO much for telling me, I’ve fixed that now! ~Melissa
Can you fix it on the top one too, Melissa? It is still not fixed.
the printable itself is fixed, I haven’t created a new graphic for the post but I will add it to my to-do list. If you click on the link at the bottom it pulls up a PDF file you can download and print of the flow chart
It’s fixed now Harmony! ~Melissa
How long does it take to clean the whole house using this chart?
Really like this chart but can you customize it for 4 and 1/2 baths, 4 bedroons, 1 kitchen, 1 office, and 4 living spaces?
All those rooms might not fit on the paper Lisa! 😉 ~Melissa
Lisa I’m in the same boat, I’ve got four beds, 2.5 baths, 2 living spaces, kitchen w/dinning, dining room and basement ! I feel like such a failure because I can’t do this house in one day with my sporadic ways and that causes me to lose my momentum. Oh and add in laundry and I’m just done!!
