Many years ago I shared a pumpkin apple butter recipe as one of the first recipes I ever posted and I thought nearly 9 years later it was long overdue to post my favorite easy pumpkin butter recipe for you.

This is a super easy 30 minute recipe using just a few pantry staples…if you have pumpkin I’m betting you have everything you’ll need.
It’s no fuss, no fancy ingredients, and makes your house smell amazing. What’s not to love??
Ingredients
- pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling!)
- granulated sugar
- apple juice
- spices – ground ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon
Step by step with video
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, for 25-30 minutes or until thickened.
Serving suggestions
You can enjoy this pumpkin butter in so many ways!
- spread on toast or bagel
- stir into oatmeal for pumpkin pie oatmeal
- add to a smoothie
- fill crepes
- top pumpkin pancakes
- mix in with Greek Yogurt

Slow Cooker Instructions
You can easily convert this to a slow cooker recipe but mixing all the ingredients in a slow cooker and cooking on low for 2-3 hours or until thickened. Some people prefer the slower method to simmering on the stovetop-either way it’s delicious!
Storage
