Why I love this recipe
- ready in 20 minutes
- super fast prep
- juicy, tender pork chops – no dry meat here!
- works for both bone-in or boneless pork chops
- works for so many diets: paleo, gluten free, low carb, it’s a crowd-pleaser!
- budget friendly
Ingredients
All you need is pork loin chops, olive oil, and steak seasoning!
Step by step
Baked pork chops are super easy. For a convenient side you can roast veggies at the same time like potatoes, carrots, or bell peppers.
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and brush the chops with olive oil, then sprinkle liberally with Montreal steak seasoning. You can change up the flavor by using a different seasoning mix but I’ve found the steak seasoning to be my favorite and super convenient option.
Once you’ve seasoned the meat simply bake the chops for 15 minutes and BOOM dinner is ready!
How to avoid dry pork chops
I used to hate cooking pork chops because they always turned out dry and stringy. The key to avoiding dry chops is not to over cook them. Pork is a lean meat that dries out easily.
At 400 degrees, the ideal cooking time for pork chops is 7 minutes for each 1/2 inch thickness. Add 1-2 extra minutes if you are cooking bone-in pork chops. My thick cut chops were perfect at 15 minutes.
The best way to make sure you don’t overcook your pork chops is to use an instant read meat thermometer. (This is my favorite thermometer and what I use in my kitchen.) Pork should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Variations
- If you don’t have Montreal steak seasoning you can mix up your own with 2 teaspoons each paprika crushed peppercorns, kosher salt, and garlic powder with 1 teaspoon each onion powder, ground coriander, dill seed, and red pepper flakes
- If you want the look of a sear you can broil the pork chops the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
Serving suggestions
Wondering what to serve with pork chops? Any nice veggie dish would be great, my favorites are creamed spinach, green beans almondine, honey butter corn, or roasted carrots. I also like to pair a carb in like cheddar chive mashed potatoes, mushroom risotto, or roasted sweet potatoes.

o glad you liked it!
One of my all time favorite recipes for pork. I baked mine with peeled russet potatoes and then used dry lipton onion soup mix with cups of water. It is so delicious. Yum!
