Rosé Sangria
This Rosé Sangria recipe is a light and fruity twist on a classic sangria. It mixes together blush rosé wine, strawberries, peaches, watermelon, and juice for a crowd-pleasing drink perfect for summer entertaining!
Summer is the perfect time of year to break out the blush wine and try this refreshing variation of a classic sangria recipe. Traditional sangria is made with Spanish red wine, a variety of cut fruit, and orange juice and brandy. This Rosé Sangria offers a lighter take on the traditional Spanish Sangria.
What is Sangria Made Of?
This Rosé Sangria is full of refreshing ingredients!
- Blush Rosé Wine – choose a light, crisp version
- Bourbon – this deepens the flavor
- Chambord – this raspberry liqueur adds a flavorful punch!
- Grapefruit Juice – the tart grapefruit adds acidity
- Orange Juice – a classic sangria ingredient, the sweetness balances the tart of the grapefruit juice
- Watermelon, Peaches, Strawberries – this fruity sangria recipe wouldn’t be complete without a hefty dose of fruit to enhance the flavor!
Step by step
- Prepare the fruit by slicing the strawberries and peaches. The watermelon can be scooped with a melon baller or cut into 1″ cubes.
- Pour the rosé wine, Chambord, orange juice, bourbon, and grapefruit juice into a large pitcher and stir to mix.
- Add the fruit and stir to mix.
- Refrigerate at least one hour and up to four hours before serving.
- If the sangria is too strong serve over ice or dilute with seltzer water.
Soaking the Fruit in Sangria
Not only does the sangria fruit flavor the drink, but it also soaks up the alcohol and leaves you with a delicious boozy treat to enjoy afterward!
Tip: Serve the sangria with skewers so you can grab the fruit as you drink!
FAQs
Because the sangria fruit needs to soak at least two hours, this is a great make-ahead recipe. You must make it a minimum of two hours in advance but it can be kept in the refrigerator up to 4 hours.
The fruit spoiling and getting mushy is the biggest concern for keeping sangria fresh, which is why I don’t recommend making it more than 4 hours in advance.
Yes! Keep it in the refrigerator for the best taste and to keep fresh. Sangria cannot sit out overnight at room temperature without becoming unsafe to drink.
Tips for best results
- Use as fresh fruit as you can find for the best flavor.
- Serve with cocktail skewers to use to eat the fruit as you drink.
- Soak the sangria fruit at least one hour before serving.
- Do not leave sangria out overnight, it must be kept refrigerated. If refrigerating remove fruit from the sangria so it doesn’t get soft or spoil.
